Update (23.12.2011):
As can be read on Peri's Website, he finished his activity on thursday and received approval from the DXCC desk today.
Update (16.12.2011, 17UTC):
After a break Peri's active again and had a chance to improve his radials. He reported a very nice opening to W6/W7. As he had announced on his website it is one of his goals to give that region some special attention.
Clublog updated up to 16:34UTC
Update (16.12.2011):
According to the cluster spots, Peri had a busy first night on 40m. As this is a one man operation, please don't get too excited if Peri needs to get some rest or is improving the antennas. Hope to get an update later today.
Newsflash (15.12.2011):
Peri became QRV at 20:46 UTC and made his first QSO with HB9DX (OP HB9DDO at station HB9CA) and then HB9BGV.
After his arrival this afternoon Peri couldn't install the antenna in a perfect way and hopes to improve this tomorrow. And it seems to be as windy in Palestine as back home in Switzerland which doesn't make things easier.
God luck Peri es vy 73, Stephan, HB9DDO
Update: The final license has been issued for the much shorter callsign E44PM.
Our member Peri, HB9IQB, will be in Palestine in the middle of December of this year. The Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Telecommunications and Technology in Ramallah has issued his license for activity on 1.8 through 28 MHz on CW, SSB and digital modes during the second and third weeks of December as E44PM (E4/HB9IQB). He'll be using a K2/100 into wire verticals mostly on CW on 12, 17 and 30 meters with an emphasis on W6/W7 and Japan. He will be posting his logs to LoTW one month after returning home. He has a Web page at http://www.hb9iqb.ch/palestine.html which will also host a log search, possibly to be updated periodically during the operation.
Besides the usual QSL routes (direct, bureau), the SDXF plans to offer a QSL-service at the Hamradio 2012 in Friedrichshafen.
